Orientation for part-time employee is assigned on a departmental basis. Learn about your department and procedures by department lead/supervisor.
Use the Part-Time Assignment Form (PDF), and submit the form to the Utah Tech HR office as soon as possible. Incomplete forms could delay the new hire process and defer payment for services.
All onboarding employment documents must be completed.
Please note the employment forms are time-sensitive and must be completed promptly to ensure you are eligible to begin work and receive timely payment. To avoid delays in your start date or paycheck, please complete the required tasks and submit the requested information before your employment begins. Submit the items to the HR office and upon the successful completion of the new employee hiring process, you will have an email account created if you are new to Utah Tech University.

Utah Tech University no longer accepts paper employment applications. New employees submit an online application and submit a brief resume. Follow the instructions when completing. Answer all questions completely and correctly.
Complete the online Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9) on or before your first day of employment. The I-9 form is used to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States. BOTH employees and employers must complete the form.
Bring completed forms with supporting documents to the Human Resources office in the Burns North Offices (enter from the north side, downstairs to the left). A member of the HR staff is available to complete the I-9.
Use the Utah Tech Direct Deposit Form to participate in the direct deposit program. Deposits may be made to a bank or credit union into a checking or savings account. All employees require Direct Deposit; see University Policy 342 for additional information.
Direct deposit notifications are emailed to your university email account by default. However, you can change this on myUT in the Personal Information tab if you prefer to use a different email address.
Direct Deposit Instructions (PDF)The W-4 tax allowances you claim determine the federal and state taxes that are withheld from your gross pay each pay period. Fill out numbers 1-7. Sign on the Employee’s signature line and date.
To determine the correct number of allowances you should claim on form W-4, complete the Personal Withholding Allowances Calculator provided by IRS.

You may use the visitor parking spaces on the north side of the Anthony Burns Arena marked with green pavement striping. Visitor-marked stalls are for visitors to UT only, and not for students, faculty, or staff at any time for any length of time. Any student, faculty, and staff vehicles found parked in a Visitor stall will receive a citation for Parking in a Reserved Zone or Parking Stall.
New employees must bring their original unexpired acceptable documents into the Human Resources office. Any expired documents, copies, faxes, digital copies, or unacceptable documents cannot be accepted and will delay the process of payments. For details about accepted documents, see the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
SPECIAL NOTE:
Any missing items will delay processing and confirmation, and Utah Tech will terminate an employee who fails to produce an acceptable document or documents, or an acceptable receipt for a document within three business days of the date employment begins. Thus, we appreciate your assistance when completing the employment forms promptly. Upon the successful completion of the new employee hiring process, you will have an email account created if you are new to the University.
