Whistleblower Protections

Utah Tech University provides a confidential resource, EthicsPoint, for all University faculty and staff to ask questions, raise issues, seek advice, and report concerns related to proper business conduct and ethical dilemmas. Reports may be made anonymously. Reports made through this “Silent Whistleblower” hotline are independently operated to help ensure confidentiality.

Any dishonest or improper act by an employee (i.e., that violates the law, wastes money, or endangers public health or safety) is of great concern to the University. All employees are encouraged to report suspected improprieties to their supervisor (or directly to a higher level if the supervisor is involved), to Internal Audit or EthicsPoint. If you are aware that a crime has been committed, you should report it immediately to University Police.

An employee who believes they have been subjected to a Retaliatory Action for any protected reporting as a Reporting Individual shall follow the Procedures outlined in University Policy 330: Whistleblower Protections, available in the University’s Policy Library.
